Once again, there hasn't been much to say so I've not been saying it. Things are starting to pick up again though:

the stucco is going up
some painting is going on inside
the downstairs doors are being stained
and we've a garage door & opener!

Wow. Things are really starting to move.

the hardwood floors are in; it only took two days
the electrician has done some of the finish work (outlets, cans, switches, etc.)
the chicken wire is up for the tile
more trim has been put up around the cabinets

The stucco continues. We need to make some more decisions:

What color is the hardware going to be on the front door?
What color is the front door going to be?
What kind of railing do we want on our deck?

In a not totally unrelated note, we signed the paperwork today to sell the house we've had now for almost eleven years! With the various cost overruns, we needed the money from our existing house to finish the new one! We'll be renting back until the end of May which should be enough time to finish.

It's official. I picked up the check from the title company today. We no longer own our house :(

A lot has been going on inside. Here's what we have so far:

Kid's bathroom -- tile is almost done
Master bathroom -- tile is almost done
Kitchen -- template was made yesterday
Downstairs bathroom -- mud was being done today
Outside stairs -- these were trucked in yesterday and the wood is being put on today. They will eventually be stucco'd to match the rest of the house.
The appliances were delivered yesterday sans refrigerator.

I talked with Derek (welcome back!) and Dave today about the progress. We're still being told a couple of weeks, or about the middle of May. The painter hasn't been around because he wants to stay of the tile guy's way. The doors should be done & hung soon to get them out of the garage. After that we can start moving things into the garage!

This was yet another amusing week, let's recap:

Remember the lack of refrigerator from last week? Oops! We forgot to order one! Lynn realizes the mistake & calls Sue. Sue calls back & needs to know:
- What color? stainless steel
- Which direction does the door swing? Hinges on the right as you're looking at it. This one really caught us off guard!
Kid's bathroom was one tile short! Oops! It's done now.
Master bathroom tile is done.
Tile around the fireplace is done -- did we want tile here and how much? We both thought only the seat in front of the fireplace would be done, surprise. It looks great though.
All the doors have been painted...but wait, what's that? Alex's closet door is pink. That cannot be right. Funny thing is if you look at the top of the door, it's clearly marked ``blue'' with an arrow showing which side should be blue. There's a similar mark on the blue door that reads, ``pink.''
The outside stairs have been stucco'd & look good.
The downstairs bathroom is almost done. It will quite likely be done today.
The deck looks like it's about to be tiled.
Now that the doors are painted, the garage has been cleared out. This will be painted (but not textured). Once that's done we should get the various mechanicals installed -- heater, water heater, house vacuum.
