Friday, 1 March --- Video: MPEG

We're in the home stretch. The house is slated to be done in the middle of April. Here's a bit of the latest:

We picked a new roofing material. We finally had to give up on the clay tile -- the manufacturer wouldn't give a firm date of arrival & the stucco cannot go on until the roof & we're tires of waiting!
The fireplace arrived yesterday.
We picked a texture for the walls. The rockers are moving right along.

The texturing is finished it took all week so there wasn't much to write, now it's done. First was the kids' rooms, then the master bedroom & dining room came next, and today they did the kitchen, living room, half bath, and entire downstairs. I didn't notice, but I assume the garage is also done.
The cabinets arrived! I guess they'll be going in next week.

Met with Bob & Dave today to talk about the schedule and inside banister.
- We saved about $1,000 on the carpet.
- We saved a bunch on the hardwood. It was quoted for most of the house & we decided to only do the living room, kitchen and dining room.
- We saved a bit on the banister.
We also met with John the painter.
Bad news -- a scheduling conflict appeared with the tile guy. Looks like 15 May instead of 15 April. Bummer!
The roofers put up most of the roof today! Learned a funny store about the room:
The roof was to be delivered last Monday. Apparently it was delivered to the local roof supply yard, but someone in the office didn't realize it was ours & sold it to someone else!
Looks like the stucco is going on next week. We've been waiting for the roof to do the stucco.
Talked with Dave about one of the downspouts. Turns out we cannot move it. Damn!

The painter was out today doing the prep. work. He said he plans to paint this weekend so the cabinets can be installed Monday!

Painting complete! Why is it it takes me a weekend to paint one small room & he did our whole house in a day and a half?
